Methodology

This is a natural continuation of the Gray Training Assessor course. If you attended the Gray Training Assessor course you will receive a refresher pack before you come on course. If you gained unit standard 115753 from other sources you will receive a contextualisation pack two weeks before the starting date. In both cases, you will need to work through this material and complete a preliminary exercise before attending the workshop.

During the workshop, you’ll work through a series of experiential exercises and will cover all the outcomes for this important unit standard within one day. The hands-on activities will build your skill and understanding of the moderation process so that you can transfer this into your organisation immediately you return. You’ll master the knowledge in small learning teams and will practise the different analytic methods. Your work is constantly assessed so that you learn constructively, building a platform of confidence to take back to the workplace. By the time you leave, you will have designs for:
• An assessment system for your organisation
• A generic assessment strategy
• A generic assessment guide for a unit standard.

Your learning journey

These are the modules you will cover during your workshop:
• Moderation systems
• Plan and prepare for moderation
• Standardising assessments
• Conduct the moderation.
